I'm off on holiday for a couple of weeks (in Yorkshire - no flying etc), so I thought I'd leave you with a puzzler.
Q. Which country is the biggest contributor to climate change?
A. The UK.

Didn't think it was. Not with stiff competition from the likes of the US, China, Australia and the middle east. I'm intrigued now.

I would think UK is the biggest contributor to climate change in per capita quota of climate change gases production, or by being the birthplace of the industrial revolution.
Ricochet, you're pretty much there on the second guess - carbon dioxide resides in the atmosphere for about 100 years, but there's a time delay of several decades before emissions translate into climate change. So the UK hasn't yet been overtaken but it will be soon.
